Anime review -Venus to Mamoru!

5 out of 5

This is not a new anime, but it is new to me.

This anime is aimed at Tweens/Teens for the most part.

It has some minor Ecchi elements in it, but they do not get in the way of this being a great story.

The story is a romantic comedy with elements of sci fi mixed in.

So check it out for some good laughs and some good cries.

Anime Monday - Music

One of the things I love about anime is the great music they have.

From full symphonic sound, hip hop, rock, metal.

There introduction and credits have wonderful scores.

Some of my favorites I have as mp3 on my iPad.

Well out of time at lunch, so next week we will hit a few of my other favorite anime songs.

Anime Monday - universal themes

Today I'm continuing the theme from this past Friday's Inspirational Friday.
The basic premise is this you can find things that God has made universally known throughout man's works of art, because man being made in the image of God creates things that represent some universal truths.

And in many of the anime works you find theses truths:
It is choices not circumstances that makes the individual.
Themes of love and self-sacrifice despite all odds overcoming the evil in the world.
And then there is this verse that you see in a lot of works:
Romans 12:21
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

One of the most recent animes really reflective this idea. It is called Heroman and the theme was about what it is to be a hero overcoming evil that have invaded the world.

This is not to say that there are bad themes throughout anime. There are ideas of reincarnation, witchcraft, sexual themes... Just to name a few.

So one needs to be careful and run from the bad to the good.

Anime Monday

Part of blogging I learned is to set up a consistent schedule.
So Monday is going to be Anime Monday!

I will blog about anime on Monday.

For those not familiar with anime, it is animation that originated in Japan.

They have children's stories to adult stories as it is the prime medium in Japanese media entertainment.

Now the show I am going to write about today is not technically anime. Some would call it Ameranime (anime made by the USA).

The best one is Avatar the last air bender by nickelodeon.

But I want to blog about "The Legend of Korra" which is the sequel to Avatar.

The released the first two episodes at Korra Nation this past weekend.

The actual shows starts later this April on Saturdays at 11am.

All I can say is this show looks very good so far, continuing the story.

It would be a 5/5 recommendation if it did not contain all the eastern mysticism in it. But it is still very good show showing the conflict between good and evil and coming of age.

I can't wait for this series to begin.
